Our strong design background and experience ensure a successful outcome for our clients in diverse furniture and product development projects.

Wau Efekti designs and implements custom furniture and operates as a furnishing expert and designer in various exhibition and event productions.
Lahti Historical MuseumPermanent and Temporary Exhibition 2024 Wau implemented the furnishings for the permanent exhibition of the Lahti Historical Museum in 2024 and designed the exhibition architecture for the second-floor exhibition Home – Echoes and Images from Karelia.

The furnishings included, among other things, dust-proof display walls, enclosures for media devices, soft furniture, display lighting, and other furniture with structural plans. The exhibition architecture for the first floor was designed by Pentagon Design.

For the second-floor exhibition architecture, a bright and airy overall design was created to complement the museum’s architecture and furnishings, presenting Karelia in its many historical forms.
      AteneumFurnishings for the Permanent and Temporary Exhibitions2024For the Gothic Modern – From Darkness to Light exhibition, we provided an airtight crucifix display case, custom-made according to the requirements of the lending institution (2024).

Wau Efekti Oy manufactured display cases and part of the studio space furnishings for the renewed permanent exhibition at the National Gallery’s Ateneum (2023).

The furniture was designed by Pure Design.

Metsä GroupPro Nemus – Visitor Center2021
For Metsä Group, Wau manufactured showroom furniture, some of which was designed by Wau Efekti (2022). All the furniture was made using Metsä Group’s own products.

The showroom displays all of Metsä Group’s products, with product information projected onto them. Additional details can be accessed via a touch screen
Ski MuseumPermanent Exhibition2019
Wau Efekti Oy manufactured the With Sisu to Heroism permanent exhibition extension in the basement of the Lahti Ski Museum (2019). A unique feature of the exhibition is the massive iceberg-like display cases rising from the floor, designed without straight angles.

Additionally, Wau Efekti designed functional exhibition furniture for the Ski Museum according to the client’s wishes.

Design Museum Diverse Temporary Exhibitions
2019
Wau Efekti Oy has furnished three major exhibitions at the Design Museum: Nurmesniemet (2022), Travel as a Tool (2021), and Lotta Nieminen. Additionally, Wau has contributed to several smaller exhibition installations, including Vitra and Fix: Maintain and Repair.

Malva Permanent Exhibition 2022
The Lahti Museum of Visual Arts Malva opened to the public in 2022. Wau Efekti Oy implemented the entire furnishing for Malva’s Roots – Treasures from the Collections permanent exhibition.

The exhibition showcases highlights from Lahti’s design history, standout pieces from the poster collection, and works from Malva’s collections.

The exhibition architecture was designed by Tapio Anttila.
